In poker, the most jaw-dropping folds are usually the ones where someone lets go of a hand so strong that most players would never even consider folding—but somehow, they do it and look like a tactical genius. In January, the poker world witnessed not one but two near-impossible folds online—both of which were spectacular in their absurdity.
Huber’s Misclick Madness
The first shocker came courtesy of PokerStars Ambassador Sebastian Huber, a high-volume online grinder. During the $11 Daily Cooldown, Huber flopped a straight flush on a board that had everyone dreaming of action. After some back-and-forth betting, Huber began a playful monologue for his stream audience:
“Seven, eight, nine, ten, jack. And the same color as well, does that mean something?”
Moments later, in what can only be described as a tragic slip of the finger, he clicked fold. The straight flush went straight into the muck.
“Oh my god! I didn’t wanna… I folded a straight… I didn’t…” he exclaimed, covering his face in disbelief. The clip went viral almost instantly, immortalizing one of the most painful misclicks in online poker history.
Petersen’s Quadruple Shock
Just a few days later, Daniel Petersen delivered a fold of his own—this one on purpose, but equally unbelievable. In a $66 GGPoker tournament, Petersen played a hand blind versus blind, and by the river, his opponent—’REiDaSelva_’—folded quads, the second nuts possible.
The action had seen multiple check-raises, small bets, and then an all-in for Petersen’s remaining stack. After a brief pause, REiDaSelva_ let the cards go… only to reveal four-of-a-kind in the muck.
The online poker world collectively lost its mind. Folding quads on the river is something most players would never even imagine, and yet it happened, live on stream.
Poker’s Most Bizarre Week
Two hands, one week, and enough disbelief to fill a poker textbook. A straight flush misclick and a quad-fold bluff gone wrong—it’s a rare combination that’s hard to top.
In the world of online poker, anything can happen, and these hands are proof that even the nuts aren’t safe once you mix human error and high-stakes pressure.
Have you ever seen anything like these folds? Probably not. And the clips are destined to be studied (and laughed at) for years to come.
