Maurice Hawkins has added another milestone to his legendary WSOP Circuit career, winning his 22nd ring at the Tunica stop and solidifying his position atop the all-time leaderboard.
Hawkins claimed the $400 Mini Main Event after entering the final table with the third-largest stack from Day 1. In a heads-up showdown against William Stanford, he emerged victorious, earning $35,146 and yet another piece of WSOPC jewelry. Celebrating on social media, Hawkins wrote, “The winner of the Tunica Mini Main is your boy for ring number 22. Like I said, printing money is what I do.”
This victory gives Hawkins a two-ring cushion over Ari Engel, who has 20 rings, and leaves Daniel Lowery in third place with 19. The trio has been locked in a long-running battle for WSOPC supremacy. Engel began 2025 as the leader with 18 rings, only for Hawkins to catch up in March following a controversial WSOPC Baltimore Main Event win. The rivalry continued throughout the year, with wins and counter-wins in Tunica, Pennsylvania, and New Orleans. By August, Hawkins had reached 20 rings and quickly added his 21st two days later.
Lowery, who captured his 19th ring in Lake Tahoe, acknowledged Hawkins’ dominance. “Maurice moved to another level,” Lowery said. “Ari and I had talked about one of us being number one, but Maurice’ volume and consistency just put him ahead.”
With two rings in hand and momentum on his side, Hawkins is now the frontrunner to reach the coveted 25-ring milestone.
